Deviled Eggs with Candied Bacon

Not only is it incredibly delicious, but it has numerous health benefits, some of which you can’t get even if you eat fruits and vegetables all day.As such, we have no hesitation classifying bacon as a food that can be very good for you – especially if you devour it as part of the well-known Paleo food meal plan.

We wanted to show you all just how delicious it can be, even for the health-conscious Paleo consumer. We partnered with Simone Miller of Zenbelly, a premier gourmet chef, to create the recipe below. Cook time: about 12 minutes
Yield: 24 deviled eggs 

  • 12 ounces bacon
  • 1/2 cup coconut sugar
  • 1 dozen eggs
  • 1/3 cup homemade or paleo mayonnaise (I like Primal Kitchen)
  • 1 tablespoon dijon mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika, plus additional for garnish, if desired
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne (or more to taste if you like them spicy)
