Des Moines, Iowa
The home of the world’s largest bacon festival, or as we like to call it, the meeting of the minds, Des Moines knows how to host a bacon party. 10,000 bacon lovers flock to the mecca of bacon each year to celebrate our beloved meat.
The temperature isn’t the only thing sizzling in Houston. The city is home to one of only two nationwide locations of the Bacon Bros Public House, a restaurant dedicated to the delicious meat. If that’s not enough to show you how much Houston loves their bacon, how about trying the bacon cotton candy found at the Houston Livestock and Rodeo Show.
The home of Oscar Meyer and a bar that gives out FREE BACON every Tuesday, Madison is truly a Baconeer’s haven. A local Madison restaurant also hosts an annual bacon fest, so you know the city is pork-friendly.
New York, New York
The city that never sleeps is also the number one bacon-consuming market in the country. You’re bound to find a bunch of friends and even strangers to bond with over your love of bacon. You can definitely find some Baconeers at BarBacon, a bacon-only restaurant, and the annual Bacon and Beer Classic. Baseball and bacon; it doesn’t get more American than that.
Honorable Mention: Ronhert Park, California
If you’ve never heard of Ronhert Park, you’re probably not alone. But, their dedication to bacon is real, and it’s 60 feet tall. This city is so bacon-friendly, they have a bacon statue located on one of their college campuses. This is clearly a special place for all of us.
