Who Makes the Best Bacon in America?

For many enthusiasts, the sublime nature of bacon itself is enough to satisfy their crispiest desires. However, for those who crave the best, there is a new king of bacon. Extracripsy.com (a website based solely around food) has crowned a champion. Don’t take this lightly; this ranking dug deep and tested the body, mind, and soul (apparently).

For Scott Gold, the heroic man who took on this task and a writer for Extracrispy.com, there were far too many delicious concoctions to just rank the best-of-the-best. So, he decided to break the contest up into various categories, including: Best Bacon, Worst Bacon, Best Non-Belly Bacon, Best “Wild” Bacon, Best Dinner Bacon, and more.

The full list can be viewed at Extra Crispy’s website but the top four are as follows:

  1. Vande Rose Farm’s Applewood-Smoked Artisan Dry-Cured Bacon
  2. Broadbent’s Maplewood Smoked Bacon
  3. Bill E’s Small Batch Bacon
  4. Benton’s Hickory Smoked Country Bacon

According to Mr. Gold, there is bacon and then there is BACON. And now we’re ready to go eat some. Come join us. We’re all family and it’s time for a family meal.

I love bacon so much that I have a pontoon I have named bacon waves and I am soon going to wrap what looks like cooked bacon around my entire 26 foot pontoon
